Riel's Road - "A many layered CD, it truly does elicit soul felt
emotions. going from the aboriginal bruskness to a smoky jazzy feel, Scofield
never seems to push her vocal limits. What a voice, what a CD!"
Ketwam - "Breathtaking, pure & fresh, these words leap to mind."
(2003)
"Scofield digs deeper into aboriginal with her 15 songs sung in traditional
tongue, notably Cree and Algonquin. With a sympathetic, sometimes sparse
folkrock backing, it's an immersion into the poetry of this culture...
as a gifted singer she naturally stands out."
(Tom Harrison, The Province, Nov 5, 2002)
"Ketwam, a gorgeous CD of original songs in the style of traditional
aborginal music."
(Queue, Nov 7, 2002)
"...thrilling vocal... supported by equally gripping instrumental
sounds."
(Alexander Varty, Oct 31, 2002)
"Sandy Scofield's dynamic stage style, her original songs and stunning
voice have earned her a reputation as one of the West Coast's best original
artists...Set to catchy melodies, and laced with her enduring wit, Sandy's
songs tell human stories full of imagery, honest and compassion."
(First Nation's Drum)
"...Sandy Scofield, one of Vancouver's still-to-be-discovered great
singers...[her] vocals have an instinctive sensitivity to control and
emotional release, as well as a warmth and authority that recalls Bonnie
Raitt"
(Vancouver Province)
"BC's Sandy Scofield has one of those arresting voices you just have
to pay attention to...[Her] songs demand to be heard simply because they're
focused and so darn believable.
(Words and Music, SOCAN)
"She can belt it out with the very best...Scofield offers us, through
the richness of her voice and the wealth of her experience, the stories
